DOK FORINSTRUCTIONAL LEADERS

Leading a Culture of Cognitive Rigor and Deep Learning

DOK for Instructional Leaders equips principals, coaches, curriculum directors, and other school leaders with the knowledge and tools to lead Depth of Knowledge (DOK) implementation across their school or district — building a shared language of learning that supports teacher clarity and student achievement.

About This Training

What Is DOK forInstructional Leaders?

DOK for Instructional Leaders is a professional learning experience designed specifically for school and district leaders who are responsible for initiating, implementing, and sustaining high-quality teaching and learning. Participants explore how Depth of Knowledge (DOK) can serve as a shared framework for evaluating and improving curriculum, instruction, and assessment across a school or district.

Leaders examine how to use DOK as a criterion for alignment studies, a measure of cognitive rigor, and a language for learning that supports teacher clarity and student achievement. They also explore how the Diffusion of Innovation framework can help them lead and sustain DOK implementation over time.

This training is grounded in the research and work of Erik M. Francis and designed to build leadership capacity for lasting, systemic change.
